How Kyoto Activities may be used: our part, the booking platforms' part, and the limits of our responsibility.

Who we are, briefly
Kyoto Activities (kyotoactivities.com) is an independent guide to things to do in Kyoto. We research and write what you read here and point you to tours you can book. We do not operate tours, sell tickets, take payment or hold reservations.
Who you book with
When you book through one of our links, your contract is with GetYourGuide or Viator, or with the tour operator, concluded on their website and under their terms. Tickets, the tour, payment, changes, cancellation and refunds are their responsibility.
How prices are shown
All prices here are starting prices in whole dollars, rounded to the closest dollar. Where a platform quotes another currency, we convert at the European Central Bank reference rate, so our figure is near but not exact. Only the price and dates the booking platform shows before you pay are binding.
Accuracy of what we write
We check our facts and cite where they come from. Still, operators and authorities set departure times, meeting points, menus, routes and rules and may change them without notice, and weather, water levels, events or an operator's decision can alter or cancel a tour. Check the details of the listing you book before paying.
About our tools
The calculators, checklists, decision helpers, charts, planners and maps are planning aids. The totals and suggestions they give are estimates; they are neither offers nor promises.
Our income
Our tour links are affiliate links: when you book through one, GetYourGuide or Viator pays us a commission, and your price is unchanged. Which tours appear here is decided by us alone.
Third-party content
We link to sources and offers that others run, and only those others answer for what they publish.
Rights to the texts
Copyright protects the texts, tools and design of this site. Read and print them for your own use and share any page by linking to it; anything more needs our permission. Tour photos belong to their providers; map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database Licence.
Responsibility
The site costs nothing to use. Our liability is unlimited for intent, gross negligence and harm to life, body or health. Otherwise we are liable only for breaching an essential obligation, and only up to the damage that is typically foreseeable.
Governing law and changes
These conditions are governed by German law. A consumer living elsewhere keeps the mandatory consumer protection of their own country. We may revise these conditions; the version online on the day you visit is the one that counts.
